Obituary of Victor Colletta

Victor Colletta, 89, of Green Castle, Pennsylvania died Monday, August 18, 2008 at Applewood Estates Healthcare Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Colletta was born in Union Hill, N.J. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a chemical engineer for the U.S. Government. Mr. Colletta was a dog and exotic bird breeder; treasurer of the Beagle Club; an avid fly fisherman, hunter, and vegetable gardener, and closely followed the financial markets. His wife, Lillian Colletta, died in 2003. He was also predeceased by a sister, Matilda Ferrero and a brother, Archangelo Colletta. Surviving are a sister, Amelia Benna; and 11 nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment will be held at Fair View Cemetery, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.
