Obituary of George A. Sabia

George A. Sabia, 73, of Freehold Township died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove. He was born in Newark. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Randolph during the Korean War. Mr. Sabia was a machinist for PSE&G, Linden where he was employed for 35 years before his retirement. His wife, Nancy Egan Sabia, died in 1995 and a daughter, Donna Sabia, died in 2005. Surviving are two sons, Shawn Sabia, Margate, Florida and Todd Sabia, Howell Township; five stepchildren, Christopher John Kean, Sean Steven Kean, Brian Patrick Kean, Jacklyne Kean Eareckson, and Teresa Kean Abernethy; a sister, Dottie Sciarrillo, Las Vegas, Nevada; and 12 grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
