Obituary of Helen J. Keating

Helen J. Keating, 103, of Applewood Estates, Freehold Township died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Applewood Estates Healthcare Center. She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. and had resided in Colts Neck Township for 21 years before moving to Freehold Township in 1990. Mrs. Keating was a registered nurse at Roosevelt Hospital and Sloane Hospital for Women of Columbia University, both of New York City. She was a graduate of Newtown High School, Newtown, Conn. and Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Colts Neck where she was a member of the Holy Spirits and the Good Samaritans; and a member of the Colts Neck Women’s Club. She was the widow of Joseph Bradley Keating who died in 1981. Surviving are two nieces, Carol Nash Strutzel , Utah and Joy Nash Pannozzo, Arizona. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Middletown Township.
