Obituary of Catherine V. Gil

Catherine "Kay" V. Wine Gil, 80 of Marlboro Township, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Astoria, Queens, New York, she lived in Fair Lawn prior to moving to Marlboro Township 25 years ago. Mrs. Gil was employed in the technical support department for Saker Shop-Rite, Freehold, for 22 years, retiring two weeks ago. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church, Marlboro Township; and a volunteer for the Deborah Hospital Auxiliary. Her husband, E. Donald Gil, died in 1998. Surviving are a son, Edward D. Gil, Jr., Township of Washington; three daughters, Cathy Yorke, Forked River, Diane Gil, Fishkill, New York, and Jean Piccicacco, Port Charlotte, Florida; a sister, Lucy Strano, Marlboro Township; and ten grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church, Marlboro Township on Monday at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
