Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth O'Prandy Koechlin
Margaret Elizabeth O’Prandy Koechlin, 88, of Oceanport died Monday, September 15, 2008 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was born in Englewood.
She was honored as a “Rosie the Riveter” for her service during World War II as a welder. She was later a waitress at Perrotti’s and the Colts Neck Inn, both of Colts Neck Township and a supervisor for Marlboro Molding, Marlboro Township.
Mrs. Koechlin was a communicant of St. Leo the Great R.C. Church, Lincroft; a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court of St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck Township; and an election challenger in the Colts Neck Township.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth O’Prandy and two brothers, Frank “Sonny” O’Prandy, Jr. and Peter O’Prandy.
A loving wife, mother, nanny, and aunt she is survived by her husband, Frederick James Koechlin; three sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and JoAnn Koechlin, Hilton Head, S.C., Robert and Susan Koechlin, Columbia, Maryland, and Michael and Melinda Koechlin, Chelmsford, Massachusetts; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Walter Anderson, Oceanport and Kathleen and Peter Cusumano, Aberdeen Township; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Hartman, Rosamond, California; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Leo the Great R.C. Church, Lincroft on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
