Obituary of Cruz Madera

Cruz Madera, 63, of Freehold passed away at home on Friday, December 26, 2008 surrounded by her family after a long fight with cancer. She was born in San German, Puerto Rico and had lived in Freehold for many years. Cruz was predeceased by her parents, Luis and Maria Madera, a brother, Pedro Madera-Martinez, and a sister, Virginia Madera Martinez. She is survived by 10 brothers, five sisters, and eight children, Jimmy Santana and his wife Cara, Freehold, Andres Santana, San German P.R., Ramona Santana, Jackson Township, David Santana and his wife Kristine, Lakewood, Mirta Santana and her husband Kenny, Guayanilla, P.R. , Edwin Santana, Freehold, Maria Santana, Freehold, and Milagros Santana, Freehold; 17 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her extended family and going to Atlantic City in her free time. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
