Obituary of Ruth Donovan

Ruth Donovan, 93, of Freehold died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Fountain View Care Center, Lakewood. Mrs. Donovan was born in Elizabeth and had resided in Staten Island, N.Y., Linden, and Old Bridge before moving to Freehold in 1967. She was employed at the Singer Sewing Machine Manufacturing Company, Elizabeth, W.T. Grant Co., Lakewood where she was a department manager, and was a cafeteria manager for Freehold Regional High School. Mrs. Donovan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold and the Ladies Sewing Group, Circle 4, and the Unity Club all of the church. Her husband, Edward Thomas Donovan, died in 2000. A daughter, Maureen Chambers, died in 2005. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Robert A. McCulloch, Freehold; and two grandchildren, Michael A. and Kiley E. McCulloch. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 118 West Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
