Obituary of Neal Shaw Marcus

Neal Shaw Marcus, 74, of Jackson Township died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mr. Marcus was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had resided in Jackson Township for the past 47 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1953. Mr. Marcus owned and operated George Cohen Inc., a plumbing contractor firm in Lakewood, before his retirement 12 years ago. He was a member of Friends of Bill W., and American Legion Post No. 166, Lakewood. He was a loving family man who will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed traveling throughout the country in the family RV. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Marcus; a son, David and his wife, Virginia; daughter, Karen and her husband Craig, and daughter, Brenda; two sisters, Joan Verb and Gail Marcus; and four much loved grandchildren, Jessica, Jillian, Dylan, and Zachary. Funeral services will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown on Monday at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 would be appreciated.
