Obituary of Rosann Wilkins Corrine

Rosann Wilkins Corrine, 85, of Freehold Township died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Delaire Nursing and Convalescent Center, Linden under hospice care. She was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Mrs. Corrine was head teller at the former Monmouth County National Bank, Freehold where she was employed for 33 years before her retirement in 1982. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Australia during World War II; worked on behalf of Dutch Evacuees in Australia; and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and Suydam United Mission. husband of 52 years, Andrew W. Corrine , whom she had meet in Australia while he was serving in the military during World War II, died in 1997. She was also predeceased by a sister, Lillian. She is survived by a three brothers and five sisters, Eric, Reginald, Bill, Kathy, Grace, Hazel, Dorothy, and Eunice, all of Queensland, Australia; many nieces and nephews in Australia; and a cousin, Mavis. She was affectionately known as Aunt Skippy by her goddaughter and niece Debra Zelenak and her husband John and her niece Maria Decibus and husband John and their families all of Carteret; a great niece Kerri of Greenville TN, a great great nephew, Qorey and many other great nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Janet and Patrick Pinto, Freehold Township. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated St. Robert Bellarmine R. C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
