Obituary of William Dey Strong

William Dey Strong, 71, of Freehold died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Care One at Wall, Wall Township. Mr. Strong was born in Manalapan Township and had resided in Freehold for the past 33 years. He was employed by the Borough of Freehold Street Department before his retirement five years ago. Prior to that he was employed at Hank Raab Trucking Company, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Florence Strong; three brothers, George, Donnie, and Richie, a sister, Betty, and a stepdaughter, Lorraine Getta. Surviving are his loving companion of over 30 years, Frances Getta; a stepdaughter, Robin Ambruster; three step grandsons ,Tom Farriello, and Gregory and Matthew Ambruster; many nieces and nephews including Donnie, Beaver, and Vickie; a brother-in-law, Joe Kelich, Englishtown; and three sisters-in-law, Wanda Strong, Howell Township, Wanda Strong, Monroe Township, and Lynn Strong, Englishtown. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
