Obituary of Alphonse DeLucia

Alphonse DeLucia, 90, of The Villages, Howell Township died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. De Lucia was born in Ozone Park, N.Y. and had resided in Howell Township since 1996. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. DeLucia was a New York City police officer before his retirement in 1976. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold and the New York City Police Benevolent Association. Surviving are his wife, Elvira DeLucia; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Janet DeLucia, Albertson, N.Y.; a daughter, Laura Larkin, Freehold Township; a sister, Mary Angeloro, Massachusetts; and two grandchildren, Michael Larkin and John Larkin and his wife, Tania. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
