Obituary of Dorothy M. Hillpot

Dorothy M. “Dot” Hillpot, 93, of Freehold died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at home. Mrs. Hillpot was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. She was a graduate of Freehold High School and was an active member of her class reunion committee. She was also a graduate of Rider College. Mrs. Hillpot enjoyed crocheting and living on the farm taking care of her cats. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Freehold. Her husband, Edward W. Hillpot, died in 1995. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Gilmartin and a son-in-law, Donald Michaud. Surviving are two daughters, Joan Lipski and Jean Buchanan and her husband Robert Bartz; a son-in-law, Thomas Gilmartin; a brother, Edgar VanDerveer; five grandchildren, David, Michael, Hollyann, Kimberly, and Shannen; and five great grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by funeral services at 12 p.m. The interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
