Obituary of Barbara Lorraine Hayes

Barbara Lorraine Hayes, 79, of Florence, S.C. died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence. Mrs. Hayes was born in Weehawken and had resided in Millstone Township before moving to Florence five years ago. Mrs. Hayes was a clerk/typist for at the Monmouth County Court House, Freehold for ten years before her retirement. She was a member of the Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, Florence; was a supporter of the ASPCA; and loved animals. Her husband, Edward Hayes, died in 1973. Surviving are a son, Paul Hayes and his wife Christine; two daughters, Martha Clark and her husband Timothy, and Lisa Williams and her husband Robert; a granddaughter, Amanda; many nieces and nephews; and friends in New Jersey. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will be held at noon followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the McLeod Hospice House, 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, S.C. 29506 or the ASPCA would be appreciated.
