Obituary of Maureen Anne Sprauge

Maureen Anne Miller Sprague, 60, of Lawrenceville died Monday, April 13, 2009 from complications from advanced stages of Multiple Sclerosis in The Waterford, a long-term care facility in Juno Beach, Florida where she had resided since 2005. Mrs. Sprague was born in Staten Island, N.Y. She maintained a home for her family in Edison and East Brunswick before moving to Lawrenceville. She was a graduate of Our Lady Queen of Peace School and Notre Dame Academy, both of Staten Island, College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, N.Y., and earned a Master of Education degree from Wagner College, Staten Island. She taught school, primarily the second grade at PS 41 and PS 69, Staten Island from 1971 to 1977. She managed a home-based business selling and distributing nutritional, cleaning, and cosmetic products from 1979 to 2000. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert’s Church, Staten Island from 1974 to 1979 and St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Colts Neck Township since 1979. Surviving are her husband, Dering J. Sprague; a son, Dering Joseph Sprague; a daughter, Catherine Noelle; and a sister, Janice Miller, North Palm Beach, Florida. Visiting will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Route 34 and Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on Monday at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis would be appreciated.
