Obituary of Brother Christopher Foley
Brother Christopher Foley, F.S.C., 88, of Lincroft died Monday, April 27, 2009 at De La Salle Hall, Lincroft. He was born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland and received the Holy Habit of the Christian Brothers on September 7, 1939.
He was a graduate of Manhattan College, New York City and received a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Detroit in 1961.
His assignments included St. Jerome’s School, New York City, Lincoln Hall, Lincolndale, N.Y. where he served as Director and Assistant Executive Director, La Salle School, Albany, N.Y., St. Joseph’s School, Detroit, Michigan, St. Bernard’s High School, New York City, Paramus Boys High School, Paramus, St. Raymond’s School, Bronx, N.Y. where he served as Director and Principal, La Salle Academy, New York City where he served as Principal, St. John Bosco, Jamaica, West Indies, Alpha Boys School, Kingston, Jamaica and the parish center at St. Raymond’s Church, Bronx, N.Y.
A viewing will be held at De La Salle Hall, Lincroft on Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial will be held in New York City followed by interment at the Christian Brothers section at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to De La Salle Nursing Development, 810 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
