Obituary of Brother Albert Francis Schmidt

Brother Albert Francis Schmidt, F.S.C., 88, of Lincroft died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received the Holy Habit of the Christian Brothers 1938. Brother Albert was a graduate of LaSalle College and received a Master of Literature Degree from University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame. He also attended Catholic University, Franklin and Marshall University and Iowa State University. His assignments included De La Salle College, Washington, DC, St. Francis Vocational School, Eddington, Penn., West Catholic Boys High School, Philadelphia, Penn., Central Catholic High School, Pittsburgh, Penn., St. John’s College High School, Washington, D.C., Bishop Walsh High School, Cumberland, Maryland, Archbishop Carroll Boys High School, Radnor, Penn., and Hudson Catholic High School, Jersey City. He was in residence at La Salle Hall, Ammendale, Maryland before moving to De La Salle Hall, Lincroft. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Paul H and Mary Schmidt. A viewing will be held at De La Salle Hall, Lincroft on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held in Ammendale, Maryland followed by interment at Christian Brothers Cemetery, Ammendale. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to De La Salle Nursing Development, care of De La Salle Hall, 810 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738 would be appreciated.
