Obituary of Angela Merola

Angela “Babe” Caiazzo Merola, 81, a lifetime resident of Freehold, died June 24, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Merola was trained in the art of fashion and clothing design. With those skills, she was a self-employed seamstress, was employed at La Rae Shop, and later owned Angie’s Finishing Touches at Park Avenue Bridals, both of Freehold. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. She was devoted to her husband of 61 years, a loving mother, and dedicated grandmother. She is survived by her husband Vincent James Merola; three daughters and their husbands, Louisa and Richard Barlaam, Freehold, Geanna Merola and Erik Landsberg, Ocean Grove, and Angie and Nat Rosen, Freehold; and six grandchildren: Geanna Barlaam, Jessica Rosen, Jacob Barlaam, Danielle Rosen, Sara Rosen and Alexandra Rosen. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
