Obituary of Ida A. VanSchoick DeAngelis

Ida A. “Bubsy” VanSchoick DeAngelis, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 27, 2009. Mrs. DeAngelis was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. DeAngelis was employed at Fort Monmouth during World War II, Buck Engineering, Freehold, and Nestle Company, Freehold before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; and a life member of the Freehold Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her father, Lester VanSchoick, a Freehold fireman who died in 1933 from injuries he sustained at the Polchak Coat Factory fire, her mother, Georgianne Riopel VanSchoick who died in 1979; a sister, Louise Nowland and a brother, Charles VanSchoick. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Phillip DeAngelis; five daughters, Ellen Triana and her husband Luis, Felicia Gray, Gina Reycraft and her husband Chris, Lisa Porth and her husband Ed, and Carol De Angelis; a son, Floyd DeAngelis and his wife Bonnie; ten grandchildren, Daniel Vitangeli and his fiancé Nicole Shaw, Kevin Gray, Jenny Gray MIgnone and her husband Anthony, Phillip DeAngelis, , Brian, Melissa and Laura Porth, Alexander and Anna DeAngelis, Kathryn and Brian Clarke; and great grandchildren, Faith Vitangeli, Anthony, William and Nicholas Mignone, and Connor Clarke; and her beloved dog, Lady. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Freehold Elks Auxiliary services will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
