Obituary of Joseph Negra

Joseph Negra, Jr., 93, of Jackson Township died Monday, July 20, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Negra was born in Nutley and had resided in The Villages, Howell Township before moving to Jackson Township. Mr. Negra was an industrial engineer for Wallace and Diernan, Belleville where he was employed for 42 years before his retirement. He was a bowling coach at Howell Lanes for 23 years and a volunteer for the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. His wife, Hilda Ottavia Negra died in 2001. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Gus, John, and Anthony Negra. He was a great father, grandfather, and Pop Pop to his loving family. Surviving are a son and daughter –in-law, Joseph G. and Camille Negra; two daughters and son-in-law, Carol and Dan Spicuzza and Cathy and Joe Allen; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum, Freehold. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902 or the Salvation Army, 605 Asbury Ave., Asbury Park, NJ 07712 would be appreciated.
