Obituary of Alvin Thomas Henderson
Alvin Thomas Henderson, 75 of Brandywine Assisted Living at Sycamore, Shrewsbury, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Portal, Georgia, he lived in Newark, Manalapan Township and Long Branch prior to moving to Shrewsbury seven years ago.
Mr. Henderson was a construction worker.
He was a member of the Church of God, Freehold.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter Jones Henderson and Lucy Lee Henderson; a sister, Ruby Lee Jinks; and a brother, Peter Wallace Henderson.
Surviving are his beloved nephew Donnie Henderson and his wife Linda, and nephews Peter, Jose, and Michael Henderson, Bishop Gerald Cobbs, and William Cobbs; eight nieces, Mattie Mallard, Barbara Broadway, Lucille Jinks, Cathy Jinks, Sharon Holmes, Angela Terry, Pamela Lawrence, and Patricia Williams; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Noon at the Church of God, 26 Avenue A, Freehold. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
