Obituary of Henry M. Falandys
Henry M. Falandys of Freehold, died peacefully on August 17th, 2009 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. A veteran of WWII, Henry was a Corporal in the 313th Infantry out of Fort Dix. He served from March of 1944-March of 1946. He fought bravely in the Battle of the Bulge as a heavy machine gunner. Henry was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster, and two Bronze Service Stars. He graduated vocational school as a mechanic, and owned and operated Ford’s Coupe Garage in Union. He was later employed by General Motors.
He was an avid horseman, and devoted much of his life to training and racing horses, the animals that he loved. He also enjoyed a good card game with friends, but most of all he loved his family.
Surviving is his son, Barry Falandys (Donna) of Cuba, N.Y. Four grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Theresa, and Melissa Falandys, also of Cuba, N.Y. along with his nieces and nephews, his God Child, Charles Ploski of Las Vegas, Nevada, and former wife, Irene H. Pizzutti, of Union.
