Obituary of Winifred Loudon Austin
Winifred L. Austin, died on Sunday, September 6, 2009, at the Williams Child Hospice House, Palm Bay. She was born in Freehold, NJ on March 30, 1917, and moved to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, in 1938.
Mrs. Austin was owner and Manager of the Austin Guest House on Central Avenue., Pt. Pleasant Beach for 50 Years. She was past president and Honorary Member of the Women's Club of Point Pleasant and Lifetime Member of the B. P. O. Elks Auxiliary. Wini moved to Melbourne, FL in 1993 and joined the Eau Gallie and the Melbourne Women Club, where she was chosen Volunteer of the Year in 2007. She was much loved "office angel" for Habitat for Humanity of South Brevard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Austin; and son James C. Austin.
Surviving are sons, Robert J. and wife Leslie, of Scottsdale, AZ, William P. and wife, Donna of Fincastle, VA.; daughter-in-law, Alice Austin, of Boyce, LA, eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
Services will be held at 10am on Thursday September 10th at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home, 560 Montreal Avenue, Melbourne, FL with burial service on Saturday, September 12th at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. The interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
