Obituary of John Stephen Dixey
John Stephen Dixey, 59 of Englishtown passed Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. Born in Camden, he lived in New Jersey settling in Englishtown 30 years ago.
Mr. Dixey was a production control manager for Cissel and Company, Lakewood for the past two years. Prior to that, he was a production control manager at Atlantic Metal Products, and Republic Metal Products, both in Springfield.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He received a culinary degree from Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.
Mr. Dixey was an avid striped bass fisherman, and was a U.S. Coast Guard licensed sea captain. His passion for fishing was only surpassed by his love for his family. His grandchildren especially were the light of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Piotrowski Dixey; two sons, John Dixey and his fiancé Audrey Fox, Manalapan Township, and Michael Dixey, Englishtown; two daughters, Renee Dixey and her fiancé Chad Mayles, Englishtown, and Michelle Truszkowski and her husband George, Jackson Township; a brother, Thomas Dixey, Lumberton; and two grandchildren, Brody Mayles and Molly Truszkowski.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:00 am.
