Obituary of Harry W. Soden

Harry W. Soden, Sr. 73, of Englishtown died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mr. Soden was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong Englishtown resident. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Soden was employed by the Monmouth County Road Department before his retirement. He was an Englishtown Borough Councilman for 20 years serving as Council President and Police Commissioner. He was a member of the Englishtown Fire Department and a former Captain of the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad. A son, John Garrison Soden, died in 1985. Surviving are his wife, Judith Zwarun Soden; a son, Harry W. Soden, Jr. and his wife Louise; two daughters, Sheryl Biddle and her husband Mark and Mary Deak and her husband Joseph; a brother Loren Soden and his wife Lyndall; two sisters, Muriel Menefee and Carol Frueh and her husband Thomas; and nine grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
