Obituary of Augustine Clanton

Augustine Clanton, 75, of Freehold departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at home. He was born in Tuskegee, Alabama son of the late Willie Clanton and Naomi Fitzpatrick. He was a longtime dedicated member of the Walter J. Conley Lodge No. 1379, I.B.P.O.E of W., Freehold. He was also employed at Freehold Raceway for over 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. He and his fun loving personality will be missed very much. He was predeceased by a brother, Milton Clanton. He leaves to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law, Brian M. and Dorothy Clanton, Neptune; a daughter, Deseree Clanton, Asbury Park; eight grandchildren, Brian, Jr., Neptune, Briana, Ocean Township, Brandee, Neptune, Anthony and Andre, Maryland, Aaron, New Brunswick, Akasha, Freehold, and Ashley; two great grandchildren; a loving companion of 25 years, Anna Jackson, Somerset; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Elks services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the church at noon. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
