Obituary of Walter S. Dunn
Walter S. Dunn, 94 of Marlboro Township died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Remsenburg, Long Island, New York he moved to Marlboro Township 63 years ago.
Mr. Dunn and his family were local farmers, and he was the owner and operator of Heer Lenwal Realty, Marlboro Township. Mr. Dunn was also a former Marlboro Township Committeeman and Superintendant of Public Works for Marlboro Township.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; and a member of V.F.W. Post No. 4374, and American Legion Post No. 54, both of Freehold.
In his earlier years he played football and track and field. He enjoyed sharing his favorite farming stories with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Helen Krystoff Dunn; his parents, John and Antonina Kaspryznska Zduniak; a brother, Chester Dunn; and a sister, Genevieve A. McFarland.
Surviving are a sister, Marion A. Dunn, Marlboro Township; his “Special” children, Deborah Galatro, Barbara Dmyterko, and Jenna Galatro; two sisters-in-law, Mary Cyrta, Toms River, and Alice Dugan, Freehold; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday, October 2, 2009 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Poland Church, Southampton, New York, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery, Southampton, New York.
