Obituary of Jane Ash Daum
Jane Ash Daum, 95, of Freehold Township Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Applewood Healthcare Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Suffern, N.Y. and had resided in Manalapan Township before moving to Freehold Township 13 years ago.
Mrs. Daum was an active member of the Old Tennent Presbyterian Church for 63 years where she served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday school teacher. She was a former 4H leader in Manalapan Township.
Mrs. Daum enjoyed helping her husband and raising her five children on the family farm in Manalapan Township.
She was employed by the U.S. Census Department.
Her husband, Fred W. Daum, died in 2003. A son, Henry G. Daum, died in 2008. She was also predeceased by a brother, George Ash and two sisters, Martha Morey and Anna Terrell.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters-in-law, Peter H. and Mary Daum, Shoreham, N.Y., Roy K. and Nancy Daum, Wall Township, and Geraldine Daum, Freehold Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Fred Brown, Jamestown, N.Y. and Carolyn and Charles Kaempffer, Freehold Township; a sister, Eleanor Ash, Orlando, Florida; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery.
