Obituary of Frederick K. Gibson

Frederick K. Gibson of Tinton Falls passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Renaissance Gardens, Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls. He was 86 years old. Fred was one of seven children born to Anne M. and Frank C. Gibson in Freehold. He is predeceased by his parents; a sister, Mary; and two brothers, Joseph and George. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret; brothers, Frank, Leonard and Roger Gibson. He met Margaret while they were both working for the Signal Corps in Shark River Hills. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a First Class Radio Operator in the North Atlantic. After his tour of duty, he joined the family business, Frank C. Gibson, Inc., in Freehold. They went on to have six children: Sally Kowalski, Freehold, Kathleen Gibson, Boulder, Colorado, Ellen Dana, Manasquan, Meg Gibson, Columbia, Missouri, Jimi Gibson, Arvada, Colorado, and Joann Roddy, Brielle. They have 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at The Town Square Auditorium at Seabrook Village, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls, NJ, followed by a repast. In lieu of flowers, donations to Salvation Army (440 W. Nyack Road, West Nyack, NY, 10994-1739) or The Alzheimer's Association (225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill., 60601-7633) would be greatly appreciated.
