Obituary of Catherine G. Horton

Catherine G. Horton, 91, of Freehold died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Horton was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and had resided in Fort Pierce, Florida before moving to Freehold ten years ago. Mrs. Horton was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold and a former communicant of St. Mark’s Church, Fort Pierce where she was a volunteer in the church’s thrift shop. She had many dear friends and was loved by all who knew her. Her husband, Walter Horton, died in 2000. She was also predeceased by two sisters, twin sister Mary Kelly and Rose Kelly. Surviving are a son, City of Poughkeepsie Police Detective Sgt. Walter Horton; a daughter, Patricia Mannino, Freehold; a brother, Joseph Kelly; four grandchildren, Mark Mannino, Daniel Horton, Elizabeth Mannino, and Lorie Drum; and three great grandchildren, Karissa, Joey, and Aidan. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
