Obituary of Helen Larkin
Helen Larkin, 97, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at The Manor, Freehold Township. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland and resided in Bronx, N.Y. and then in Youngsville, N.Y. before moving to Freehold Township in 1999.
Helen was a homemaker whose life revolved around her family. She loved cooking and entertaining and her hospitality was a way of life. Helen was an active parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Youngsville, N.Y. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Ladies Guild.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Larkin, in March, 1993 and her daughter, Helen Morrissey in February, 2007.
Surviving are her son, Martin (Tom) Larkin and two daughters, Kathleen Uhrig, Freehold Township and Rosemary Gehl, Palm Court, Florida; ten grandchildren, Helen Petrin, Thomas and Robert Uhrig, Kathleen Schriefer, Kevin Morrissey, Deirdre Toth, Daniel Larkin, KerryE’lyn Larkin, Edward Gehl and Matthew Gehl; and five great grandchildren.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Francis Church, Youngsville, N.Y. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. The viewing will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
