Obituary of John James Kallighan
John James Kallighan, 88 of Freehold Township died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, he lived in New Milford prior to moving to Freehold Township 41 years ago.
Mr. Kallighan was a manager for New York Telephone Company.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, Freehold Township.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Anne Lau Kallighan; his devoted children and their spouses, John Kallighan, Freehold Township; Sharon and Cosmo LaMacchia, Freehold Township, Susan and Donald Gomes, Freehold Borough, Maureen and Bruce McCulloch, Freehold Township, and Colleen and James Bezanson, Jackson Township; eight loving grandchildren; and five loving great grandchildren.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. The family will be greeting friends and family at the Church from 9:00 A.M. until service time. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834 or Odyssey Healthcare of NJ, 242 Old New Brunswick Road, Suite 140, Piscataway, NJ 08854 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
