Obituary of Doris M. Jacklin
Doris M. Jacklin, 85, of Freehold Township died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Jacklin was born in Jersey City and had resided in the Tottenville section of Staten Island, N.Y. before moving to Freehold Township 44 years ago.
Mrs. Jacklin was a switchboard operator for CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township before her retirement. Prior to that she was a telephone operator for New York Bell Telelphone Company.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold where she served as a Eucharistic minister.
She was a member of the CentraState Medical Center Auxiliary and a volunteer in the hospital’s thrift shop. She was a charter member of the South Shore Swimming Club, Tottenville.
Her husband, Roy Wood Jacklin, died in 2002.
Surviving are a brother, Edward Weckerle; a sister, Edna McEwan; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her neighbors, Marilyn and Jerry Bruner and Linda and Bob Hart.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel on Friday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
