Obituary of Edward James Nixon
Edward James Nixon, 83, of New Port Richey, Florida died on November 24, 2009 at HPH Hospice Care Center, Hudson, Florida. Mr. Nixon was born in New York City and had resided in Florida for the past 30 years.
He was a retired automotive repair shop owner and operator.
Mr. Nixon was a member of St. Michael the Archangel R.C. Church, Hudson, Florida; a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 10377, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, American Legion Post, and the Executive Committee of Republicans.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Vivian DuBois Nixon.
Surviving are three sons, Edward Nixon, Jr., Wayne Nixon, and Glen Nixon; a daughter, Joy Dolan; two sisters, June Boccio and Louise Handford; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
