Obituary of Joseph L. Persong

Joseph L. Persong, 76, of Belvidere died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his son’s home in Bayville. He was born in Streator, Illinois. He was employed at Thatcher Glass, Wharton from 1959 to 1985 and later as a supervisor for Anchor Glass Company, Aberdeen. After that he was employed at Home Depot, Howell Township. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann in 1986 and a daughter Lorinda Clark in 2013. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Beth Persong; a son-in-law, Thomas Clark; a sister, Jean Bell; 11 grandchildren, Jessica and husband Kevin, Joe, John, Kyle and wife Tracey, Anthony, Mary, Gary, Jack, Lisa, Kayla, and Samantha; and five great grandchildren, Echo, Emily, Steve, Allison, and Hector. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
