I was so sorry to learn of Joan's terrible death. I met Joan through rescue work, and was amazed at her dedication and her energy. She cared deeply for the feral colonies and the deer that she looked after in all kinds of weather. She could be prickly in her interactions with people, but she gave her heart and all she had for the animals’ welfare; what a better world it would be if we all had her devotion to the causes we believe in. I like to believe that she is at the Rainbow Bridge, with her beloved cats that had passed on.
