Obituary of Brother William Sullivan

Brother William Sullivan, F.S.C., 84, of Lincroft died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at De La Salle Hall, Lincroft. Brother William was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had received his Religious name, Brother Cyril William, and the Holy Habitat of the Christian Brothers on September 7, 1943. He pronounced his Perpetual Vows in Oakdale, N.Y. in 1950. He was a graduate of Manhattan College, New York City and had attended graduate school at Manhattan College, Siena College, Albany, N.Y., Fordham University, New York City and received his Master’s Degree from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. His assignments included De La Salle College, Washington, D.C., Sacred Heart Elementary School and La Salle Academy, both of New York City; Christian Brothers Academy, Albany, N.Y. where he served as principal from 1968 to 1969, Manhattan Prep School, and Cardinal Spellman High School, both Bronx, N.Y, La Salle Institute, Troy, N.Y. and De La Salle Hall, Lincroft where he joined the staff in 1997. Visiting hours will be held at De La Salle Hall, Lincroft on Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at De La Salle Hall on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Christian Brothers section of St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro Township. Memorial donations to De La Salle Nursing Development, 810 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
