Obituary of Joseph Edward Yockel
Joseph Edward Yockel, 56, of Freehold died Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Mr. Yockel was born in Bronx, N.Y.
He was a stationary engineer and held a Black Seal license.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a graduate of Columbia High School, Maplewood. He was a member of the Friends of Bill W.; just remember “Don’t leave before the miracle happens.”
He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick T. and Catherine Lane Yockel and a brother, Frederick M. Yockel.
Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Dennis McGackin, Freehold Township; his companion of eight years Christine Spang; three nieces and a nephew, Felicia Wolfe and Raymond “Christopher” Yockel, both of Wilkes Barre, North Carolina, Kelly McGackin, Freehold, and Courtney McMurray and her husband Blake, San Francisco, California; his friends, Bobbi Hannah and George Moran; and his cat, Ziggy.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 and 9;00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
