Obituary of Laura Ann Rabe

Laura Ann Rabe, 51, of Mount Holly died unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2010 at home. Laura was born in Freehold. She served her country the majority of her life and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. She spent four and a half years in the U.S. Army, two years of which were in Germany which enabled her to travel extensively throughout Europe. She then spent 20 years in the U.S. Air National Guard at McGuire Air Force Base as a logistics management specialist until medical disability forced her into involuntary retirement. Despite her chronic poor health Laura was always the first person to help any person or animal in need. She was the most caring and generous individual anyone could imagine. She is predeceased by her father, Robert J. Rabe. Surviving are her mother, Margaret J. McMahon Rabe; two brothers, Steven Rabe and his wife Liann, Boston, Mass., and Michael Rabe and his wife Bernie; her nieces Erin and Alana and nephew Sean; and her beloved cats, Spencer, Sierra, and Buddy. She will be missed greatly by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Final interment will be held at a private military ceremony on Friday and “A Celebration of Laura’s Life” will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 17 at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold.
