Obituary of Martin J. Urban
Martin J. Urban, 85, of Freehold Township died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Urban was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the 754th Field Artillery Battalion, United States 9th Army in the European Theater of Operations.
Mr. Urban was a stationary engineer for Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick where he was employed for 14 years before his retirement 23 years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; and a member of American Legion Post No. 54, and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374 and a former member of the the Freehold Rotary Club and Freehold Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Urban; a son, Donald A. Urban, Freehold Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana M. and Paul Buchok, Easton, Pennsylvania; and two nieces, Kristina Miller, Princeton and Joan Kelder, Freehold.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
