Obituary of Edward L. Jasko

Edward L. Jasko, Jr., 69, of Manalapan Township died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Jasko was born in Neptune Township and was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a parts manager for International Harvester, Red Bank. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; a member of the Millhurst Fire Company, Manalapan Township where he served as Chief for six years and President for six years; a former Freehold Township Fire commissioner, a Past President of the Western Monmouth Mutual Aid Association; a member of American Legion Post, Farmingdale; and a charter member of Millstone Elks Lodge No. 2613 Surviving are his wife, Veronica Wienckowski Jasko; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lee Ann and Richard Schwerthoffer and Frances and Kevin O’Brien; a brother and sister-in-law, John A. and Jean Jasko; and six grandchildren, Megan, Erica, Alison, and Adam Schwerthoffer and Shawn and Thomas O’Brien. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
