Obituary of Charles Albert Reid

Charles Albert Reid, 81, of Manalapan Township died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at home. He was born in Englishtown and was a lifelong resident of the area. Mr. Reid served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was a carpenter and mason for his entire career. He enjoyed gardening and making birdhouses. Surviving are his wife, Joan Roos Reid; two sons, Charles E. Reid and his wife Cynthia, and James R. Reid; four daughters, Kathleen Craven and her husband Robert; Sandra Hye, Nancy Hye and her husband Bernard, and Joan Bergen and her husband Keith; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held during the visiting at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
