Obituary of James F. Gibbons

James F. Gibbons, Jr., 80, of Manalapan Township died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge Township. Mr. Gibbons was born in Woodside, N.Y. and had resided in Manalapan Township since 1967. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post No 54, Freehold. He was a very proud member of the Metal Lathers Union Local No. 46, New York, N.Y. Mr. Gibbons was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Englishtown. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was known for his sense of humor. The family will never forget their Manasquan beach memories. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Gibbons; five sons, James Gibbons, Michael Gibbons and wife Ruth, Kevin Gibbons and wife Tra, Thomas Gibbons, and Daniel Gibbons; five daughters, Patricia Gibbons, Catherine Gibbons, Linda and husband Timothy McLane, Jennifer and husband John Duke, and Nancy Gibbons; two sisters, Margaret Kilroy and Josephine Dragisics; and 20 grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 58 Main Street, Englishtown on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 would be appreciated.
