Obituary of Robert C. Koeppel

Robert C. Koeppel, 91 of Freehold died Friday, March 5, 2010 at home. Born in Widnau, Switzerland, he lived in Bogota and Lake Elsinore, California prior to moving to Freehold 13 years ago. Mr. Koeppel was the owner and operator of Highway Body Works, North Bergen, retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; and a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. He was predeceased by a son, Peter M. Koeppel in 1985. Surviving are his wife, Rita M. Sieber Koeppel; two sons, Robert C. Koeppel, Jr., Hemet, California, and Stephen Koeppel, Guttenberg; two daughters, Susan Lopez, Freehold, and Judith Alberse and her husband Rod, Leonardo; and four grandchildren, Jesse Ministero, Peter Lopez, and Amy and Mark Nahhas. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
