Obituary of Nalton Goode
Nalton “Goodie” Goode, 74, of Tinton Falls departed this life on Sunday morning, March 21, 2010 during a short stay at Chapin Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Red Bank. Nalton was born on April 15, 1935 in Manalapan Township to the late Arthur and Sallie Goode. He resided in Freehold before moving to Tinton Falls. He was a graduate of Freehold High School, Class of 1954. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for four years. Following his discharge he worked for Marlboro State Hospital; Garrett Corporation, Air Cruisers Division; and was last employed with the Department of Defense as a Quality Assurance Representative retiring in 2003.
He was a member of Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church, Freehold. While his death brings us great sorrow his life brought us much joy. He will be dearly missed. He celebrated 50 years of marriage to his devoted wife Ellen Haynes Goode on September 5th.
Nalton was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Goode, Jr. and sister, Yvonne McRae. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ellen Haynes Goode; one sister, Lula Brown, Newark; two Godsons, Kee Jackson, New Brunswick and Jordon Blount, Irvington; his dear in-laws, many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 11 Ave. A,, Freehold. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Road, Freehold. Entombment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Mausoleum, 361 Highway 79, Morganville. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
