Obituary of William M. Boardman
William M. Boardman, 89, of Freehold Township died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at home. He was born in Passaic and had resided in Freehold Township since 1965.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
Mr. Boardman was director of purchasing for Oakite Industries, Basking Ridge before his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold and a former communicant and usher at Holy Spirit Church, Pompton Plains. He was a member of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus; served on the Monmouth County Board of Elections; and was a former special police officer in Pequannock.
He was predeceased in 2003 by his wife of 61 years, Ruth E. Boardman, and a daughter, Gail Dericks, who died in 1976.
Surviving are three sons, William M. Boardman, Salt Lake City, Utah, John Boardman and his wife, Patricia, Pompton Plains, and Michael Boardman and his wife, Eileen, Wells, N.Y.; three daughters, Ruth Ann Baumbach and her husband Gregory, Baldwinsville, N.Y., Joan Meade and her husband William, Manahawkin, and Cynthia Adamczyk and her husband, Robert, Jackson Township; 21 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum, Freehold.
