Obituary of Warren H. Hibbitts

Warren H. Hibbitts, 77, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and formerly of Wayside, answered his last alarm and entered into rest on June 14, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy. Born November 9, 1932, in Neptune, he was the son of the late Warren F. and Jean (Emmons) Hibbitts. He was married to Beverly J. (McClintock) Hibbitts on September 25, 1960. A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Warren proudly served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Hibbitts spent his entire life in Wayside, aside from being in Italy while serving in the Army. He then moved to Lancaster seven years ago. Warren was a member of the VFW Post No. 2639 in Neptune, the American Legion Post No. 0945, Social Member of the New York Fireman’s Association and Social Member of the Pheasant Ridge Social Club. He was also a life member of the Wayside Community Fire Co. for over 60 years and the New Jersey State Fire Chief’s Association. With his years in Wayside Community Fire Company, Warren held positions as President, Vice President, Safety Officer, Fire Police and Fire Chief many times. Warren was employed with the former Bendix Corp. and later with Allied Signal and Honeywell for 47 years. He enjoyed lunch dates with his Bendix buddies, bird watching and taking long drives in the Amish countryside. In addition to his bride of 49 years, he will be lovingly missed by a daughter, Kim, wife of Lamey Jessome as well as his kitties Aimee and Inkee which gave him great pleasure. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at noon at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Cremation will follow. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
