Obituary of Dorothy P. MacMillan
Dorothy P. MacMillan, 75, of Freehold Township died peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township after a short battle with cancer. Mrs. MacMillan was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and had resided in Freehold since 1960.
She was married at the Belleville Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Pennsylvania in 1957.
Mrs. MacMillan was a teacher at Marlboro High School from 1987 to 2000. After that she was a home tutor for the Freehold Regional High School District.
Mrs. MacMillan was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold where she served as an elder, member of the executive board, a member of Church World Service, Unity Club, Women’s Club and church monitor.
She was a graduate of Belleville Elementary School and Belleville High School, both of Belleville, Pennsylvania and Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania.
She loved to travel throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe.
Her husband of 50 years, Robert W. MacMillan, Jr. died in 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra J. Foster and her husband Eric and Sharon L. MacMillan.
Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 118 West Main Street, Freehold on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Grove City College, Development Office, 100 Campus Drive, Grove City, PA 16127 would be appreciated.
