Obituary of Joseph Mrakovcich

Joseph Mrakovcich, 78, of Howell Township died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. He was born in Krk, Croatia. Mr. Mrakovcich was a courtroom attendant at the Monmouth County Court House, Freehold before his retirement. Prior to that, he was a drywall taper and finisher. He owned Ocean Front Bar, Sea Bright and Short Stop Liquor and Deli, Farmingdale. He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, Farmingdale; a Past Exalted Ruler of B.P.O.E. No. 742, Long Branch; a member of the Howell Lions Club and St. Catherine of Siena Council No. 10005, Knight of Columbus. Surviving are his wife, Bridget “Nancy” St. John Mrakovcich; a son, Joseph J. Mrakovcich; a brother and sister-in-law, Mario and Maria Mrakovcich and their children, Robert and Helen; and a sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Peter Milovcic and their daughters, Vesna and Maryann. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel, Farmingdale on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum, Freehold.
