Obituary of Arthur Dennis Loring

Arthur Dennis Loring, Sr., 79 of Neptune, a long time resident of Monmouth County passed away peacefully on August 6, 2010 after a long struggle with cancer. Born in Newark on December 15, 1930, he attended Christen Brothers Academy in Albany, New York and then Seton Hall University where he was a ROTC cadet. After serving two years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer, he returned to Seton Hall where he attended law school. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar Association in 1959 and was a practicing attorney in Monmouth County for many decades. He was preceded by his parents Arthur F. and Dorothy C. Loring, and his beloved son Arthur D. Loring, Jr. Arthur was married three times and was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Rossner Loring. Surviving is his sister Ann Brown and her husband Tom. His children Mark and Lorna Loring of Arlington, Virgina, Margaret Loring, of Jacksonville, Florida, David and Debbie Loring of Freehold, Matthew Loring of Neptune, and Patricia Hayden of Freehold. He also leaves twelve grandchildren Elizabeth Loring, Joseph, Nicole and Mark Barrios, David and Devin Loring, John, Patrick and Andrew Hayden, Michelle Loring, Anthony Loring and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his niece Dorothy and his nephews Tom, Joseph, and Robert and many life-long friends – all of whom will miss him. And last but not least, he will be missed by his beloved dog, Elvis . Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown Township. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Arthur’s name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
