Obituary of George James Rich
George James Rich, 87, of Freehold Township died Monday, September 27, 2010 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Mr. Rich was born in North Bergen.
He was a track maintenance worker for Central Railroad of New Jersey, Jersey City.
Mr. Rich was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Company B, 105th Engineers Combat Battalion in the European theater of Operations.
He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, Secaucus Memorial Post and American Legion Post No. 33, North Bergen.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edna Rich, in 1981. He was also predeceased by a brother, Frank Rich; and a sister, Rosemary Picco.
Surviving are four nieces, Lois Picco and Sister Lillian Pico, M.P.F. Kathy Giantomenico, and Elaine Levine; and four nephews, Joseph and Louis Picco and Michael and Francis Rich.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Villa Victoria Academy, 376 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ 08628
